Fluorocarbon Wax Ban

In coordination with the International Ski Federation, the US Ski and Snowboard Organization banned the use of fluorocarbon wax effective July 1, 2021. Abiding with the ban, the Iola Winter Sports Club no longer allows skiers to use any wax that contains perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) compounds, such as fluorocarbon wax. This pertains to skiing for exercise or recreation, as well as ski race events.  Additional information regarding the ban is available at U.S. Ski and Snowboard Cross Country Fluoro Policy 2022-23.
